Our mission is all about Changing lives: feeding the soul through Christ, the mind through education, and the body through healthcare and clean water.
Hunger, illiteracy, and poor health are daily struggles for many people in rural Ghana. At the same time, Ancient African spiritual belief systems are often a familiar source of relief or a grasp at change. These beliefs impact their lives and generate a worldview, a worldview that relies on spiritual superstitions and simply hoping for the best.
For some people, fear, dependency, and scarcity are all they know. Pair that with acute physical hardship, and hopelessness sets in. The cycle continues. Spiritual and physical poverty then go hand-in-hand. This all-encompassing poverty is reality for many people of rural Ghana.
But there is hope.
Breaking the cycle of physical and spiritual poverty means breaking both physical and spiritual strongholds. At ACM, we believe that God, through the power of his son Jesus Christ, has set us all free. He has appointed all people to live with dignity and to honor him to the best of their ability.
We understand that the problem of poverty is often multi-dimensional which means it requires a holistic approach to address.
For almost three decades, ACM has been developing people to be their own advocates in sustainable growth and finding freedom. Our approach is to develop people as faithful disciples of Jesus Christ who take responsibility in their homes and community to bring sustainable change.
We equip and support them to become agents of transformation in our rural communities where many societal ills are rampant. Many Ghanaians have the will and are capable of improving their own situations. However, they often lack the opportunity of dignifying fair wage work, the technical education, and capital to invest in their dreams to truly thrive. This can change. Be a part of the solution with ACM.
